Guardians of the Gorge

Guardians of the Gorge was a cosplay group run by Jared Booth, ans started when he first decided to make a full-size Groot costume from Guardians of the Galaxy. I joined in to help with the process, and ended up working on many other pieces for the other characters including Star Lord and Rocket. I also attended Rose City and Wizard World Comic-Cons with the group, providing support as a handler, backstage assistant, and on-site repairs.

Most of the pictures above are from Groot 1.0, these used more stationary drywall stilts and was covered in paper mache. Over the next year, Jared re-started the process, creating Groot 2.0 with circus performer stilts and re-covering the enture suit with a more durable latex. This one I have photos of the process as well.
