There is a whole community around maing modified Furbies, called "oddbodies", which I was part of for about a year. After the first few - which I and a friend designed - we also took commisions and worked with the buyer to create each one. I did most of the construction half, and made over 20 long Furbies in that time - plus many more with less dramatic modifications.
The finished piecs were shipped all over the world, I believe the farthest one traveled was Japan. We also managed commission pricing and budgeting, though at the time I was in school and it was more for fun than making a big profit.

1998 Standard Model Furby
Long oddboddies based around the standard electronic Furby originally released in 1998. Using the faceplates from real (non-functional) Furbies, modified with wire to be pose-able into different facial expressions.
1999 Furby Buddy
Furby Buddies, originally released in 1999, are plush toys with no electronic parts. Made out of either an original 1999 Furby Buddy faceplate, or resin replicas. These resin castings were often refered to as "vegan" by the community. They usually came in simple opaque colors, but also could be found in all sorts of transparent glittery colorful designs. I got all of mine from Cryptid Kei, a mutual in the community who I made art trades with. Nowadays, you see more 3D printed face options, but I still believe the resin ones to be prettier and neater.
McDonalds Happy Meal
Made out of McDonalds Happy Meal Furby faceplates, or resin replicas. Similarly, all of these used are from Cryptid Kei.
